The way of using Portable Firefox, ThunderBird, FileZilla, and Pidgin Over SSH On Unprotected Networks Using Any USB Drive

A few years ago I started using PortableFirefox on my USB drive to browse with. It was easier to always have my stored form data, bookmarks, and other browser settings with me regardless of which computer I happened to be using. The problem was I'd often find myself on a public WiFi network and didn't like the fact that my passwords and other personal data could be discovered by any average joe running a sniffer.
In this guide we're going to provide you with step-by-step instructions on how you can browse, email, FTP & IM over SSH on your USB drive.

World's most costly iPhone

Here a treat for the luxury lovers! Well, who doesn’t love luxury, it’s just that how many can afford it.So for those who boast of affording it can take pride in owning the world’s most expensive iPhone. Austrian luxury designer and jeweler Peter Aloisson has added another feather in his cap after designing this lavish piece of technologyWhat makes this phone so special is the use of 138 Princess cut diamonds and another set of 180 brilliant cut diamonds on its surface. This is not where the story of opulence ends.

The 17.75 carats of diamonds find a home in 18k white gold around the rim of the phone. The best quality of diamonds set in oure gold makes the iPhone a priciest possession for the tech lovers making it worthy of a price tag that reads $176,400 USD.The rich souls who are planning to get there peie of luxury should know that the iPhone has already got a customer in a Russian businessman who ordered the phone way back in October 2007 for January 2008 delivery. And if the princess cut edition is not your cup of tea, you cab put your hands on a comparatively cheaper piece which has only the brilliant cut diamonds and is priced at a modest deal of $66,150 USD…

A Dual Bay SATA Hot Swap JBOD Enclosure.....

This spiffy new JBOD Enclosure from ThinkGeek features a one touch backup function, blue and red LED's and data transfer up to 480Mbps (60MB/s) over USB 2.0. Lets see, when would an enclosure like this be useful? If you have 1TB of data to transfer to another system and you only have two 500GB drives, then you could place both of your 500GB drives into this enclosure to create a single 1TB drive to move your data with. The caveat here is a big one however - while your data is on this JBOD disk system (which stands for "Just A Bunch Of Disks") it is not redundant and if either drive fails, your data is potentially gone gone gone for good. Also good to know is that JBOD ≠ RAID-0, which means the typical speed increase one would see from a RAID-0 config is missing in JBOD. This is a very cool enclosure for use in specific situations.

Best Tapeless Hard Drive Camcorder With Microphone Input Jack

There's a funny trend going on with camcorders where key features are stripped to encourage you to buy the more expensive models. I'll get straight to the point - I wanted a hard drive camcorder that had manual and auto light exposure modes, and most importantly a line-in audio microphone input jack that comes in around $500. Sounds easy right? Not! With camcorder video quality on lower end models getting better and better, some manufacturers have started to gimp the audio features on their base and mid-range models to encourage you to buy their higher end video cameras. Just go out on Amazon and try to find a less than $800-$1000 hard drive camcorder with a line-in audio jack - it's almost impossible.

I did say almost - here's how you do it. The Sony HandyCam SR62 has a 30GB disk for storing video and connects to your PC via USB port. It does not have a direct external mic jack but instead uses a proprietary Sony "Active Interface Shoe" to allow for you guessed it - proprietary Sony microphones and light accessories. So how do you hack or modify the AIS port to attach a standard lapel or wireless mic?

Watch Camera Cell Phone Hyundai W-100

We're on a new integration kick - multi-function gadgets are the new thing. The Hyundai W-100 cell phone watch has a 1.3MP camera, touch screen, and Bluetooth. Apparently the perfect watch will be available in English and Chinese, and sports microSD for expansion for MP3 audio and video playback. Battery life is sure to suck but for everything this new gadget packs on your wrist, we're likely not to care too much so long as it will go a day on a single charge.

APPLE iPHONE - Rocking The World

Apple added some iPhone pages to their website today after Steve Jobs’ keynote speech was completed. Now that the dust has settled a little bit, here are some additional detailed specs to go along with the iPhone release information we posted earlier today. The new Apple iPhone has a 3.5 inch Multi-touch screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 at 160 ppi. The Multi-touch screen works by finger touch, not a stylus and can track multiple fingers moving on and across the screen to perform tasks such as resizing an image. It has a 2.0 megapixel built-in camera and a battery that allows 5 hours of talking, watching videos or browsing the web, and up to 16 hours of listening to music.

The service will be provided by Cingular with Quad-Band (850, 900, 1800, 1900) GSM, EDGE, Bluetooth and WiFi. (No 3G listed in the stats). The actual dimensions of the iPhone are 115 x 61 x 11.6mm, which makes it just slightly thicker than the iPod (thicker than the Nano) and roughly the same dimensions as Cingular’s 8525 for height and width, and weighs 136 grams.
Apple says they will start shipping the iPhone in June of this year after they receive FCC approval, and prices are expected to be $499 for the 4GB model, and $599 for the 8GB.

LG - KF700

LG Electronics, a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, today announced the launch of its LG-KF700, a new multimedia phone that combines three input methods to create an amazingly intuitive user interface and provides instant access to features. The world’s first phone with three separate input methods, the LG-KF700 itegrates a 3-inch touchscreen, alpha-numeric keypad and Shortcut Dial. Each of these input methods is assigned to the tasks at which it is most efficient, making LG’s highly intuitive interface possible. With its user-optimized navigation, all of the phone’s functions and features are instantly accessable. From the phone’s main screen users can flip through several handy widgets, including a calendar, scheduler, and memo pad, with the swipe of a finger. The large touchscreen also means that the phone can provide an adaptable on-screen interface, rather than tying users to a fixed, preset button layout.

The Shortcut Dial on the back of the phone quickly scrolls through six user-selected features by controlling a virtual dial on screen, rather than wasting time digging through menus. This can be done at any time, from any application, not just when the phone is idle. The Shortcut Dial can also be used to scroll through web pages or e-mails, adjust volume and perform other functions for which a wheel is naturally best. One of the LG-KF700’s powerful multimedia features is a full featured Web browser that provides full access to Google Search, Blogs, Gmail, Maps and Youtube. Support for HSDPA 3G networks* makes web browsing extremely fast and makes other features like video telephony possible. Other features include an MP3 player, MPEG4 video player, 3.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity and more. All of these multimedia features are packed into a slim and stylish package with a clean, minimalist look.
